Camouflage nets

Simple, hand-woven, and always in demand.

Camouflage nets break up the shape of a person, a vehicle or a shelter and hide it from the air. They are cheap to make and they save lives, and the need never stops. We weave them by hand in Wicklow, and to do it we need one everyday thing: bedsheets.

01 · WHY NETS

What a net does

Concealment is protection. If it cannot be seen, it is far harder to hit, and the people underneath it are far more likely to come home.

Nets are woven from strips of matte fabric tied onto a mesh base. They soften hard outlines, scatter shadow and blend equipment into the ground, hiding it from the air and from the naked eye. They wear out, get damaged and get left behind, so the demand never stops.

They are also something anyone can help make. A stack of old sheets and an afternoon of weaving turns into cover for someone who needs it.

  • Hide the shape.Breaks up the silhouette of people, vehicles and positions.
  • Cheap and fast.Made from donated fabric and volunteer hours, not money.
  • Always needed.Nets are consumable; a steady supply matters more than any one net.
  • Delivered with the vehicles.Finished nets travel to Ukraine with our vehicle runs.
